Bart has successfully prosecuted and defended numerous civil and criminal government contract fraud investigations. As a former Assistant State Attorney General and federal prosecutor who has prosecuted government contract fraud, Bart is uniquely qualified to handle these matters. Bart has defended clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local government contractors and suppliers.
Bart is proactive yet discreet understanding the sensitive nature of a criminal government contractor fraud investigation to his highly respected clients. Whether the matter is being investigated by United States Attorney, the FBI, the Department of Defense or the State Attorney General, he has a proven track record. While Daniel is best known for his successful defenses in high profile cases, his biggest wins has come privately convincing prosecutors and investigators to decline criminal prosecution and quietly close their files.
As with other areas of Daniel's white collar practice, he discreetly determines the nature and scope of the problem and advises his clients on the advisability of self-reporting, commencing settlement discussions or mobilizing for trial.
Bart has also successfully prosecuted and defended numerous civil and criminal government contractor fraud cases at trial. By way of example, he defended at trial a contractor providing services to the Charleston Air Force Base in an alleged "3 for 1 kickback" scheme, where purportedly the contractor was paying kickbacks to the government inspector of one dollar for every three dollars of fictitious invoices received.
Bart has written and lectured extensively on government contractor fraud.
